More a Tokyo art gallery than a shop, WDL is hidden round the back of one of London's oldest breweries, Truman, now sadly defunct. Negotiating your way to the merchandise is a trial of intellect involving white noise, a long corridor and an apparent dead-end, but you'll appreciate it once you're there. What little stock is on display carries the WDL logo and is the work of shop-owner Yuichi Takenoshita , a young Japanese designer who has been based in England for two years now. Unsurprisingly, his clothes are a) very Tokyo and b) not for bulky builds, but the quality is excellent and the T-shirts great fun
