Pickett packs more in a tiny corner boutique than many designer boutiques do in their minimalist caverns. The accessories and leather here are affordable luxuries. When pashminas were all the rage, Picketts had stacks of them at a third the price; they still stock them as well as variations of (beaded, embroidered, summer, fringed, silk-tassled…) starting at £79; now they also stock those striped Missoni-style scarves everyone’s wearing. You could, if you wanted, buy all your Christmas gifts here: mini game sets; satin brocade slippers; leather totes; tiny feather evening bags; address books; garnet necklaces and other jewellery laid with semi-precious stones; and even posh umbrellas. Leather goods include gorgeous soft driving gloves, totes, Kelly-style handbags, photo albums, storage/jewellery boxes, wallets, belts, cushions and larger, pricier luggage.
