Just north of Oxford Street on bustling, villagey Marylebone High Street is this amazing emporium of ribbons, trims and other amazing little bits and bobs that will make a fashion or interior designer out of you yet. The minute you walk into this spacious store, you’ll want to add ribbons to everything and wrap gifts with Edwardian excess. Satin, velvet, lace, organza, textured, embroidered, ruffled, leather, fur and countless other trims await you. Even if you aren’t the creative type, you can find the perfect ribbons for chokers and gorgeous flowers to adorn your wrists. Tassels, chenille, heavier texture trimmings for curtains and interiors. Ready-made gifts like velvet, feather-trimmed handbags (£100) and gorgeous accessories (feathers, decorative butterflies, beaded flowers) that might put you off the cheap stuff at Accessorize. Thankfully, season stuff is limited and not in your face. Prices vary widely and expect to pay quite a bit for trimmings like antique or organza ribbons and the higher quality silk flowers.
