Walking into OK feels like entering a well-curated exhibit on modern Scandinavian design. There’s even a selection of art books explaining what it is you’re seeing. You’re almost afraid to touch the slender, teardrop-shaped vases and the luminescent, jewel-like glassware. Then the affable Larry Schaffer, proprietor of OK, explains that everything in the store is meant for daily use and enjoyment--the lacquered bowls for salad, the aquamarine iittala glasses for drinking, and the vases for (gasp!) flowers. Considering good design is the art of our time, everything is priced amazingly reasonably, making it all too easy to whip out the plastic. A great place for gifts, and a definite StyleMaven favorite.
