Outside, the streets of Soho may be brisk and sunny, but inside Anna Sui, the air is dark, hot and close. The boutique feels like a cross between your grandmother’s attic and a teenage girl’s closet gone mad. Narrow-cut coats with thick Tibetan lamb cuffs remind me of silent movie stars of the 20s. By contrast, baby-girl tees with flocked designs and glittery rhinestone barrettes say right now, bay-bee.
