Like Miu Miu, APC has a paramilitary feel. The sleekly groomed, olive-clad staff look like designer foot soldiers for some elite retail squad. Given the right moment, you feel certain they might line up in formation and begin calisthenics. There’s definitely enough room in the open spaces of the store and by the looks of it, the rough wooden floor planks have already taken a severe beating. Evenly spaced on the racks and neatly folded on display are clothes you would expect in a place like this: clean-lined, well-cut and modern. It’s all very Soviet-era stern, except no one named Vladmir is going to bark at you, “Cargo pants! Now!” You get to choose. Free-enterprise rocks
