Tucked in a miniscule space in Soho, Dosa invites you to come in and feel the clothes. When you stroke what looks like a rough burlap skirt, a moment of confusion hits because instead of scratching the skin, the skirt feels soft and smooth. It’s made of (oxymoron time) silk burlap. It’s all about fabrics here. A cute top becomes avant-garde in rubber. A black-and-white blouse floats in the lightest of silks. More conventional wear like simple cashmere sweaters almost seem disappointing, but they come in the prettiest of colors, a Kool-Aid spectrum of brights. At Dosa, someone really understands that clothes can and should feel deliciously good against the skin.
