Trendy Girl Gear

Here is a cool site brought to my attention by Shelika and CPG! It is called StyleMaven. They claim that StyleMaven is your Ultimate Shopping Guide to Hip, Global Chic. And they say that at StyleMaven you can search for, browse in, and share the lowdown on your
favorite upscale specialty stores around the globe. If you ask me, this is a trendy girl's dream come true! You can search for boutiques in SF, LA, NY and London!
The scarf, Brown Eyed Girl, Sarah Shaw
So lo and behold, what do you expect? There is a beautiful scarf very similar to Charlize's on the homepage of StyleMaven! I feel like I hit the jackpot! And they have a section like "My Closet" called "My Stylebook". And after I signed up it said, "you are fabulous!" How cool is that? Okay, I am in love with this site. They list about 6 really trendy boutiques to check out in the city. One including Brown Eyed Girl located on 2999 Washington Street. I read about this boutique a few months ago in the paper but never made it in, now I'll have to check it ASAP! The site claims to have the feeling of raiding your best girlfriend's closet, something I am
sure that my room mate enjoys quite frequently (Of course, I give her permission!). Another cute boutique highlighted on the site is Sarah Shaw on 3095 Sacramento Street. "Shaw seems like a place where Meg Ryan should shop." How nice! please go to StyleMaven to read more!

"I'm appalled," said Stephanie Wong, founder of StyleMaven,
an online fashion site in San Francisco. "Basically, Internet is
our one means of communication, and dial-up won't cut it."

Chapter 4 - Starting a New Media Business
Stephanie Wong, 30 founder of StyleMaven.com in California,
launched her website - the directory for shopping offline that calls itself "the ultimate guide to hip luxury chic" -- with a team of twelve. Says Stephanie, "It is gratifying to design a product for myself and my company rather than for another client. My company is the synthesis of my two passions: technology and fashion."
As Stephanie put it, she got tired of the pace of the fashion industry. Although she enjoyed the designing, the shopping for fabrics and trims, she did not like the "insane pace and lack of intellectual stimulation." In need of a new creative outlet, she decided to take some PhotoShop classes, bought a Mac Quadra, volunteered for a pro bono Web project, and her career took off from there.
"I was involved in multimedia - the Internet hadn't taken off yet - then took a job at a prestigious interactive design firm in the heart of Silicon Valley. There I learned about the importance of a well-designed interface and of empowering the website user. I was involved in some very inter-esting innovative projects, including an in-flight entertainment system for Sony and a digital whiteboard for 3M." Stephanie continues, "Creating software that provides a consistent user experience and is also visually engaging is very fulfilling. It is like using a finely crafted pair of tailor's shears compared to those kiddie scissors you used in grade school.
